US Congressman Alleges Israeli Lobby Dominates Congress, Labels Gaza Offensive as ‘Genocide’

US lawmaker accuses Israeli lobby of dominating Congress, labels Gaza war a ‘genocide’
US congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has accused pro-Israel lobby groups of exercising “incredible influence and control” over nearly every member of Congress, warning that Washington’s political establishment is overwhelmingly swayed by Israeli interests.
In an interview on The Megyn Kelly Show, Greene argued that no other country holds a comparable grip on US lawmakers. She criticized the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) for lobbying on behalf of Israel without registering under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, and said congressional trips to Israel are designed to secure loyalty from incoming legislators.
“AIPAC takes every freshman member of Congress their first year on a special trip to Israel,” she said, stressing that she had refused to participate. Greene pointed to images of US leaders donning religious attire at holy sites in Jerusalem as evidence of the lobby’s influence.
The Georgia Republican has also sought to curb military funding for Israel, introducing an amendment to block $500 million in aid for the Iron Dome system while denouncing Israel’s attacks on civilians and Gaza’s only Catholic church. The measure failed in a 422–6 vote.
Greene has since become the first Republican lawmaker to openly describe Israel’s war in Gaza as a “genocide.” She further questioned the $3.8 billion in annual US military aid to Tel Aviv, insisting her stance is about prioritizing American interests:
“I’ve turned radically and unapologetically for America, just flat out for America. I’m sorry. We don’t have time to fund what you’re doing.”
