Trump vows legal action against WSJ over explosive Epstein letter report

Trump Threatens to Sue Wall Street Journal Over Epstein Letter Claims

President Donald Trump has threatened legal action against The Wall Street Journal following its report alleging he wrote a suggestive birthday letter to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003. The story, which surfaced Thursday and quickly stirred political circles in Washington, claims the letter—bearing Trump’s signature—was part of a commemorative album organized by Ghislaine Maxwell for Epstein’s 50th birthday.

Although the Journal did not publish the letter itself, it said it reviewed the material, which was reportedly part of a collection later examined by Justice Department investigators. The album, assembled before Epstein’s first arrest in 2006, included contributions from various prominent figures.

Trump reacted sharply on Truth Social, branding the letter “a FAKE” and calling the report defamatory. He said he had directly warned WSJ editor Emma Tucker and News Corp owner Rupert Murdoch not to publish the story, asserting they were informed of its alleged inaccuracy.

“The Press has to learn to be truthful and not rely on sources that probably don’t even exist,” Trump wrote, vowing to sue The Wall Street Journal, NewsCorp, and Murdoch “shortly.”

The controversy adds another layer of scrutiny to Trump’s past connections with Epstein and further fuels tensions between the former president and mainstream media outlets.
