Trump Sues Wall Street Journal for $10 Billion Over Epstein Report Dispute

Trump Sues Wall Street Journal for $10 Billion Over Epstein Birthday Letter Report
U.S. President Donald Trump has filed a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), its parent companies, and top executives, over an article claiming he wrote a lewd birthday letter to Jeffrey Epstein.
Calling the story “fake news,” Trump announced the lawsuit Friday on Truth Social, targeting WSJ journalists Khadeeja Safdar and Joseph Palazzolo, News Corp owner Rupert Murdoch, and executive Robert Thomson. Trump described it as a “POWERHOUSE lawsuit” and a “historic legal action.”
The article in question alleged that a letter from Trump appeared in a leather-bound birthday album created in 2003 by Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s long-time aide and convicted trafficker, to mark Epstein’s 50th birthday.
Filed in federal court in Miami, the lawsuit accuses the defendants of publishing “false, defamatory, unsubstantiated, and disparaging” claims, and highlights what Trump calls “clear journalistic failures.”
“I hope Rupert and his ‘friends’ are looking forward to the many hours of depositions and testimonies they will have to provide in this case,” Trump added.
The lawsuit comes amid renewed tension within Trump’s MAGA base over the unresolved Epstein case and sealed documents, which the Justice Department recently confirmed will not include a “client list.” Despite Trump’s efforts to dismiss the scandal as a “hoax,” pressure continues from supporters demanding full disclosure of the Epstein files.
