Turkcell Secures €100 Million Sharia-Compliant Financing from Emirates NBD to Boost Green Data Centre Expansion

Turkey’s telecom giant Turkcell is stepping up its game in the digital era by securing €100 million ($113 million) in sharia-compliant funding from Emirates NBD. This major financial boost is set to accelerate Turkcell’s ambitious plans to develop high-capacity, eco-friendly data centres, designed to support the growing demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and big data technologies throughout Turkey.

The investment highlights Turkcell’s commitment to sustainable growth and innovation in the technology infrastructure sector. TDC Veri Hizmetleri (TDC), a key subsidiary of Turkcell that is publicly traded on both Borsa İstanbul and the New York Stock Exchange, is leading this green transformation.

“By diversifying our financing portfolio, TDC not only strengthens its financial resilience but also creates pathways for new partnerships and market expansion,” said Kamil Kalyon, Chief Financial Officer at Turkcell. “This deal with Emirates NBD aligns perfectly with our strategy to support Turkey’s digital future while prioritizing environmental responsibility.”

With this fresh capital injection, Turkcell is poised to enhance the country’s data infrastructure, ensuring faster, greener, and more reliable connectivity for consumers and businesses alike, firmly positioning Turkey at the forefront of the regional tech landscape.
