Turkey’s leading mobile operator, Turkcell, has secured €100 million ($113 million) in Sharia-compliant financing from Emirates NBD to fast-track its expansion of eco-friendly, high-capacity data centers. Through its subsidiary TDC Veri Hizmetleri—listed on both Borsa İstanbul and the New York Stock Exchange—Turkcell aims to power the country’s growing needs for cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and big data.
“Diversifying our financing allows TDC to reduce risks while unlocking new partnership opportunities in strategic markets,” said Kamil Kalyon, Turkcell’s CFO.
