Tourist Balloons in Cappadocia: UK Visitors to Turkey Could Reach 5 Million This Year
“Turkey for us is a priority partner across the board,” said Jill Morris, the British envoy to Turkey, highlighting the strengthening ties between the two countries.
More visitors from the UK are expected to flock to Turkey in 2025, supported by an extended summer season and significant expansions at Antalya Airport.
British tourists could reach 5 million this year, Morris told the state-run Anadolu Agency, noting the steady growth from 3.3 million UK visitors in 2023 to 4.5 million last year.
Most British travelers prefer popular destinations along Turkey’s Aegean and Mediterranean coasts, including Izmir, Aydın, Bodrum, Muğla, Marmaris, Fethiye, and Antalya.
The expansion of Antalya Airport’s capacity from 35 million to 82 million passengers is a major development expected to accommodate the increasing influx of tourists, boosting the country’s tourism industry even further.
