Poland deployed fighter jets in response to Russian attacks on Ukraine.

Poland Deploys Jets Amid Renewed Russian Strikes on Ukraine
Polish officials accused Russia of deliberate provocation on Thursday, saying its air force scrambled jets to secure national airspace as Moscow launched new strikes on Ukraine.
“In light of Russian long-range aviation carrying out attacks on Ukrainian territory, Polish and allied aircraft are active in our skies,” the country’s Operational Command posted on X.
The move followed an incident a day earlier, when a Russian military drone crossed into Poland and detonated in farmland overnight. Authorities described the intrusion as a “provocation.”
“Once again, we are dealing with provocation from the Russian Federation, this time involving a drone,” Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz told reporters.
The blast occurred in a cornfield near the village of Osiny, about 100 kilometers from Warsaw and close to the borders with Ukraine and Belarus. No one was hurt, though the shockwave shattered windows in nearby homes.
The defense chief stressed the timing of the incident, noting that it coincided with ongoing peace discussions. “At a moment when there is hope the war may move toward an end, Russia provokes again,” he said.
