Exclusive: TRT drone footage reveals Gaza’s destruction amid Israeli offensive

Israel’s ongoing offensive in Gaza has left tens of thousands dead, displaced nearly the entire population, and pushed many to the brink of starvation amid what rights groups describe as a deliberate starvation policy by Tel Aviv.

Exclusive aerial footage captured by TRT during a Jordanian aid airdrop reveals the enclave flattened beyond recognition. Reporter Mucahit Aydemir and cameraman Osman Eken documented scenes of neighborhoods reduced to rubble as Israeli forces pound Gaza from the air, land, and sea.

According to local health authorities, at least 61,776 Palestinians have been killed and 154,906 wounded since the war began on October 7, 2023. Thousands more remain trapped beneath collapsed buildings.

The humanitarian crisis has been exacerbated by a blockade that has choked off the entry of food, water, fuel, and medicine. Aid groups warn of famine-like conditions: at least 239 people, including 106 children, have died of starvation, with four more children among the victims in just the past 24 hours.

The UN estimates that 88 percent of Gaza’s infrastructure has been destroyed, leaving more than 2 million people displaced — the vast majority of the enclave’s 2.3 million residents. Families crowd into schools or makeshift tents where sanitation is collapsing, clean water is scarce, and disease is spreading rapidly.

Since late May, attacks on aid distribution points and shelters have killed at least 1,881 people and wounded nearly 13,900, according to Palestinian officials. Human rights groups and UN agencies warn that the deliberate use of starvation and deprivation as methods of war is banned under international law.

What once was Gaza, they caution, has become the epicenter of a full-blown humanitarian catastrophe.
