Ankara and Hanoi have signed a comprehensive defence cooperation protocol during the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025 in Istanbul, marking a significant step in bilateral defence relations.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Turkish Deputy Minister of National Defence Musa Heybet stated:
“I believe this defence and security cooperation will pave the way for many forward-looking projects and collaborations.”
Heybet emphasized that Türkiye will offer full support to Vietnam’s air, land, and naval platforms, involving both the Ministry of National Defence and Turkish defence industry companies.
On behalf of Vietnam, Deputy Defence Minister Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien called the deal a “historic moment” and expressed commitment to deepening ties:
“From now on, we will witness the history of cooperation in many more areas and the opening of a new chapter. We are ready to do everything in our power to become allies with Türkiye.”
The six-day IDEF 2025 defence fair, hosted across multiple venues in Istanbul—including the Istanbul Fair Centre, Atatürk Airport, Wow Hotel, and Ataköy Marina—is organized by KFA Fairs with support from Türkiye’s Defence Industries Presidency (SSB) and the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation.
